How can I boot directly to the desktop?

When I select Arch in my grub boot screen it takes me to the CLI where I have to enter my username, then password, the "startx".

It there a way to just select Arch and go directly to the desktop?

Thanks!

Len

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Au … al_console allows you to login automatically.  Follow the link at the top of that page to start x at login.

you can also use a login manager to do this.

on a single user system the getty system is better imo as frank604 and circleface was pointing to.
