No headphone sound + microphone high pitch echos after suspend

When the computer start from off, there is sound from the headphone like normal, the microphone is ok.
PROBLEM: When I suspend/resume there is no more sound from the headphone. There are also some strange high pitch echoing each time the microphone receives an audible sound. Rebooting will not solve the problem. Only a poweroff/start can bring everything back to normal.

What should I do to fix this problem?
Should I suspect a hardware problem?

The laptop is a Eurocom Shark 4 (Clevo N150SD).

Running alsamixer shows two cards:
