Kinesis advantage, on but no output.

Product: Advantage for PC & Mac
Model: Advabtage black USB
Model: KB500USB-blk

Purchased via: backshop.nl
In: Jan 2015
Computer Model: Asus N79V
Operating system: Arch Linux
uname -a:

Linux primus 4.2.1-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Sep 22 06:57:07 CEST 2015 x86_64 GNU/Linux

systemctl --version:

systemd 226
+PAM -AUDIT -SELINUX -IMA -APPARMOR +SMACK -SYSVINIT +UTMP +LIBCRYPTSETUP +GCRYPT +GNUTLS +ACL +XZ +LZ4 +SECCOMP +BLKID -ELFUTILS +KMOD +IDN

I've read the troubleshooting part of the users manual.
When I plugged the keyboard into my computer, all 4 lights briefly
blink, I hear a tick and then they turn off.
The beeping noise still works for every keypress.

Rebooting does not fix the problem.
Replugging the cable does not fix the problem.

It seems that there is no communication between the computer and the
keyboard.

Some more information:

lsusb shows the device:

Bus 003 Device 005: ID 05f3:0007 PI Engineering, Inc. Kinesis Advantage PRO MPC/USB Keyboard
Bus 003 Device 004: ID 05f3:0081 PI Engineering, Inc. Kinesis Integrated kHub

It's also in /proc/bus/input/devices

I: Bus=0003 Vendor=05f3 Product=0007 Version=0100

But when I listen for input events, it seems like the computer isn't
getting any:

sudo cat /dev/input/event12
or
sudo cat /dev/input/event13

These don't show anything when I type.

EDIT: Also

xev

doesn't show any events when I type on the keyboard.

Re: Kinesis advantage, on but no output.

Did you test this keyboard in The Other Operating System or BIOS/UEFI setup on the same machine and/or on other machines?

Check dmesg for any funky stuff appearing when you connect the keyboard and hit few keys.

Re: Kinesis advantage, on but no output.

I opened up the keyboard and one of the cables was broken.
I fixed that and everything was working again.
