Kernel 4.x doesn't boot on Intel NUC (DN2820FYKH)

I'm trying to install OpenSUSE on my new NUC. When I've installed older Factory version with kernel 3.17 everything was fine but ofc as it was quite old installation medium, I've instantly upgraded it, especially because I'd like NUC to be running 24/7 as home server so kernel 4 life-update is nice feature. Aaaand here we go. After upgrade system completely didn't boot up. Just green splash and nothing, keyboard not working, 0 response. In recovery mode some white garbage on screen also 0 response. When in GRUB I chose to run with old kernel (3.17) everything was working correctly again. But I need kernel 4.

So I've decided to try Arch as well it should work anywhere. But welp... It doesn't. Exactly the same result as on OpenSUSE in recovery mode - white garbage on screen:

It's perfectly sharp photo, don't try to read this thing it's just some white stripes, nothing human-readable.

OS is installed on USB stick because I don't have any 2.5" drive

That's entertaining! I have the same model NUC, and it works fine with Ubuntu 14.04, but I've not tried Arch (I foolishly thought that would be more reliable on a server, at the time, especially as it can install security updates automatically, but a kernel update still killed it, so I wish I'd used Arch and had all the app versions match my desktop).

I can't test it today, but I'll try to get round to sticking a Live USB stick in it soon.

I suppose you've checked if there's a newer BIOS available? Alternatively, maybe a different screen?
