After the last upgrade I got a really ugly font in my opera browser

And even in Firefox too, also scrolling became pretty slow due to the new font.
Letters at some places are too close to each other, I think it is called "kerning", barely readable.
How to get back the original font settings?

Given that we have no idea what was updated, or what your original settings were, how do you expect people here to answer?

For great web-fonts, I use: Infinality along with: ttf-ms-win10 fonts. Don't forget to set the: Usage to MS fonts.
You will need a copy of the C:\Windows\Fonts folder from a Windows 10 machine for ttf-ms-win10. That isn't that hard to get. The biggest thing with the web is that most pages assume Microsoft fonts so if you want accurate rendering you almost need them. Your non-browser fonts will also benefit just from Infinality.

no offence but the image you posted doesn't seem ugly.
