free -m command not showing buffers/cache

When I run free command (-m is what I mostly use) the -/+ buffers/cache line does not appear, it appears under its own little category. Why is this happening? Every other distro, Slackware, Debian, CentOS, show a buffers/cache line. I have a swap partition and I know it is on because I see it on with gnome-system-monitor. Is this cateogry the same as the line? It seems a lot less.

Here is an example,

free -m
total        used        free      shared  buff/cache   available
Mem:     7947        3706        211        102      4029            4048
Swap:     8243        12           8231

my system has total 8GB memory.

Re: free -m command not showing buffers/cache

Package procps-ng in Arch is at version 3.3.11, while Ubuntu in 15.10 still uses 3.3.9.
