Fan control - help needed

Hi,

I'm a big fan of Arch even though more of a beginner still. I have an HP Elitebook 2570p - custom build with i7-3840QM, 16GB 2133MHz RAM and 3TB storage. Even with a custom heatsink the beast is overheating at full load. The only way to prevent it is by forcing the fan at 100% speed which works great in windows. Here's the problem, I wasn't able to detect any fans in linux. Running sensors-detect shows no fan sensor present. So far, I'm running with turbo off and that's about it. Worst case, might just buy another fan and run it with 2 wires instead of 4 forcing it to go 100% speed at all time but that would be the last resort lol.

Would appreciate your help in this matter.

P.S.> I'm not looking for power management tools, this is my power rig that does a lot of virtualization (Virtual Box, GNS3) so the whole point is to be able to tap into the system's resources. I don't really care about the fan noise as long as the performance is adequate.

Thanks
