Hi Everyone,
I can't get mupen64plus to run on my media PC. It opens a window but then crashes. My versions are
mupen64plus 2.5-1
xf86-video-ati-git 3254.0288a4b-1
mesa-git 73362.164c827-1
Catalyst is basically unusable at this point... Running in verbose yields the following, terminating in Illegal Instruction. Anyone seen this. I am on the intel anniversary edition dual core and an AMD R7 240. Thanks.

Please wrap your output in code tags. See: https://bbs.archlinux.org/help.php#bbcode for instructions.

Nothing really outstanding on that output. Apart from a mesa git regression and potentially a Intel Microcode issue might be some wonky ways rice initializes the card, try another graphics plugin like glide64 (has better compatibility and less glitches as well)
mupen64plus --gfxmupen64plus-video-glide64mk2 /path/to/romAnd please as pointed out, put output like that in code tags it's hard to read like that.
Still the quick fail like that makes me more inclined to think it being a driver/microcode issue, those the same happen on normal mesa as well?

Fixed the original post with the code tags. Sorry for my unprofessionalism. Yes, I just reverted to traditional mesa, from the standard repos, and it fails similarly. The non-verbose output looks like so:

What about the other things I've mentioned, have you done the microcode update and switched the gfx plugin in oder to check if it's something there? can you examine the coredump
coredumpctl gdb pidofcoredumpmore info in the coredumpctl manpage. And get the actually failing instructions from there?

Thank you for your responses. I tried glide, same result. I also followed the guidelines for the microcode update, no luck. Here is the output of the dump

What's the exact model of the processor? is it broadwell/skylake based? This might be part of the general issues found with those lines of processors that are currently around, see this thread as well: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=201194
Forgot to mention, but after the coredumpctl, write a bt that output will be more telling
