Muon

Hi,

I'm new to arch (from Fedora) and I'm trying to use Muon to manage updates but it's not clear to me if it does a `pacman -Su` or a `pacman -Syu` and have thus far been unable to find any info on it anywhere.  Can anyone clarify this?

After I let Muon do an update if I go to the shell and run `pacman -Syu` it often proceeds with more updating, which leads me to believe that Muon is only doing -Su.  If this is true, I'm curious to know what the pros and cons of this are.

Thanks!

Re: Muon

muon is a frontend for PackageKit. The PackageKit database is automatically synced regularly, but if there are very recent updates available it may not be completely up to date. You can always manually update the database in muon-updater (More... -> Check for updates)

Re: Muon

Okay, thanks for the reply.

Just to be clear though: is there ever a need for me to do a `pacman -Syu` with Muon or will I be okay relying on Muon alone?  I think (IIUC) the answer is that Muon alone is okay but just want to be certain.

Thanks again!
