Elantech touchpad on MSI GS60 Ghost Pro on kernel 4+ doesn't work ;(

Hey ppls

I have an MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 2PE. It has an Elantech touchpad which worked up until kernel 3.18 (I think); it definitely doesn't work on kernel 4+;

The buttons worked (on kernel 3.x I think), but on 4+ nothing works.

It showed up when doing an xinput, but when the clicking functionality above disappeared so did the listing in xinput. It does definitely show up in dmesg.

I've also tried the elantech-asustouchpad-dkms in aur to no avail.

In Ubuntu though the touchpad works out of the box (psmouse.ko module and 3.19 kernel).

It sucks having to use a mouse every time you want to use the machine, so I'd love some assistance please
