Gnome + Pulse Audio + Alsa problem. Mixer working but no audio hdmi

Hi to all,

I'm having trouble getting pulseAudio + alsa on gnome for an intel i5 4570 integrated gpu.

Pc is connected to hdmi monitor with integrated speakers.

pavucontrol mixer is working showing levels of audio.

selected sound device is built in audio hdmi.
I've read all articles on pulse audio and alsa but no sound comes out.

The strange thing is that levels are showing in pavucontrol... Audio was working when using discrete gpu now reserved to a qemu vm.

update:

I've got 2 kernels on this machine.

stock kernel :
4.2.3-1-ARCH

linux-vfio-lts kernel from https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/linux-vfio-lts/

4.1.10

All settings are the same but I'm getting only audio from 4.2.3.1

Only differences are with  vfioPci modules used for a discrete gpu (Nvidia GTX 970) ,blacklist nouveau module and intel_iommu on

Kernel 4.2.3.1

cat /proc/asound/modules

 0 snd_hda_intel
 1 snd_hda_intel
 2 snd_hda_intel

Kernel 4.1.10

 0 snd_hda_intel
 1 snd_hda_intel

Amixer are the same without nvidia card at the end

found culprit and solution.

When running kernel with intel_iommu=on, intel hdAudio doesn't work.

Solution. Boot kernel with intel_iommu=on,igfx_off

I think we can mark this solved...
