How do I switch to the US international keyboard?

I went into the settings for Keyboard in XFCE and I changed it to US International but it doesn't work when I right-alt+[key]. Is there a different method to do this? Thanks!

Have you taken US international with dead key. It works for me (you need to log out and relogin). I think there is an appleyt that allow to switch the keyboard on the fly if you like. All keyboard configuration is explained in the wiki
