Not sure which graphics card drivers I should be using

Just installed Arch last night, following along with the beginners guide in the wiki. I'm using a laptop and have an NVIDIA NVS 3100M integrated graphics card. I'm currently trying to figure out how to get 32 bit drivers for it in order to play a 32 bit game, but I've been having trouble figuring out which drivers to use for this. I've been looking through the wiki, and google, for quite awhile trying to solve this, but haven't been able to figure it out.

Here's more information on the graphics card, if this is helpful:

lspci -k | grep -A 2 -E "(VGA|3D)"

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
	DeviceName: 32
	Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device 172a

Re: Not sure which graphics card drivers I should be using

Looks like it's not detected at all. Any traces of it with 'lspci | grep -i nvidia' or 'dmesg | grep -i nvidia'?
In that case it's somehow disabled in your laptop BIOS/EFI setup.
The packages would be the 'nvidia-340xx' ones.

Re: Not sure which graphics card drivers I should be using

There is no output when I run either of those. I've looked through the BIOS options, and there is no obvious way to enable/disable it.

I'll try the nvidia-340xx packages and see how that goes.

Re: Not sure which graphics card drivers I should be using

So I installed "nvidia-340xx" and "nvidia-340xx-libgl", and then my computer was unable to boot into my DE. I went into the command line mode and changed the libgl back to the mesa-libgl, and rebooted. Then I was able to boot properly. I'm not sure why this happens, the 340xx packages are definitely the right ones, but for some reason it winds up causing this sort of problem if I try to use it.

Is there any way I can fix that or work around it?

post output of lspci -k and Xorg.0.log please.

Do you have xf86-video-intel installed ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Re: Not sure which graphics card drivers I should be using

lspci |grep -i 3D

edit: Bah, sorry, just saw you checked for both vga and 3d.

Re: Not sure which graphics card drivers I should be using

I think I was mistaken in thinking that I wasn't using the right graphics card drivers, since it seems to work okay for another game. It looks like the problem isn't that my gpu drivers aren't working, but that with the way I currently have it set up, I'm limited to OpenGL 2.1 and need to find a way to use OpenGL 3.x (My graphics card seems to support up to 3.3). Sorry for the confusion.
