[Solved]Nvidia driver: (EE) no screens found(EE) on Lenovo G580 Laptop

Hello community...
Always after installation of the NVIDIA driver (and nvidia-xconfig) my Xorg fails with this error: (EE) no screens found(EE)
I had the same problem on Debian and FreeBSD, but on "retard-friendly distros" (Ubuntu, Linux Mint) driver worked fine.

Hello,

I had the same problem sometime ago. You can see the topic here

The answer was:

I think yoiu have misunderstood all the bumblebee intel+nvidia goal
nvidia card is not connect to any phisics output interface, you must launch xorg with intel card, run any other program with primus/nvidia and redirect the frame generated by nvidia card on the intel/xorg running.

Re: [Solved]Nvidia driver: (EE) no screens found(EE) on Lenovo G580 Laptop

Well,

After my topic, I removed the Xorg.conf file and everything works very well now. And when I need to use my Nvidia card I use the optirun/primusrun.
What do you mean with "stuck and no respond any error"? Stuck in the login screen?

Re: [Solved]Nvidia driver: (EE) no screens found(EE) on Lenovo G580 Laptop

Notebook working on Intel graphics without Xorg.conf, but Nvidia driver not working. I need to generate Xorg.conf, but after generate it and reboot my laptop only shows black screen and when I login with CTRL+ALT+F2 to run startx, xorg show basic information and not responding...
But optirun command working correctly:

Without optirun:

With optirun: (manual open) optirun -b none nvidia-settings -c :8

Great, I tested Counter Strike:GO, working great with optirun, I will be using optirun to run games on Nvidia.
Thanks for support... How I change title of post to [Solved] ? smile
I have last question, what is better for games optirun or primusrun ? what is difference ?

Re: [Solved]Nvidia driver: (EE) no screens found(EE) on Lenovo G580 Laptop

Click in "edit" in your first post and you will be able to change the title of the topic.

Wiki says that:

primusrun (from package primus) is becoming the default choice, because it is power consuming and provides a better performance than optirun. Currently you need to run this program separately (it does not accept options unlike optirun), but in the future it will be started by optirun.

For 32-bit applications support on 64-bit machines, install lib32-primus (Multilib must be enabled).

Well, I didn't stop to do a benchmark, but I'm using primusrun for almost everything. I had problems with some games using optirun, but with primusrun it worked very well.
