Multiple video streams

I'm not sure if this is the right subforum, as I'm definitely not new to Linux, but it's something that's been bothering me for a while and it probably has a straightforward fix.

I'm using the proprietary nvidia driver (built from dkms) and I'm unable to play two videos at once. If one is playing and I pause it to play another video (in another program) the second video is unable to start. It stays stuck at the current frame and pauses itself automatically. This also happens if a qemu vm (only tried with qxl driver) is open. No video is able to play. Could this be related to gstreamer? What could it be?

Thanks for the help smile

Re: Multiple video streams

I'd love to give more information, but I don't know what else to say.
Is there anything I'm missing?
