xorg with nouveau.ko crash [GT218] Geforce 210

hi!
I'm Jean-yves from France.

Since 4 days i started with archlinux.
Not new to Linux that i practice since nearly 20 years...

My Nvidia card GeForce 210 works perfectly ...  with ubuntu ...
well say i dont need advanced 3D perfs.
I also use debian but not sure that my card even works with debian.

I could install archlinux, configure keyboard, french accents,
timezone, network, fetchmail and many virtual terminals tools that i could use.

Here is my message error when i run with startx

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::out_of_range'
what(): bitset::set: __position (which is 68617733) >= _Nb (which is 64)

Here is my xorg log when i run it with startx : http://paste.ubuntu.com/12853149/
Here is my xorg log when i run X command  on the shell: http://paste.ubuntu.com/12885543/

Sorry to use ubuntu paste but i do not remember actualy paste url.

And here my versions of all concerned programs:

Re: xorg with nouveau.ko crash [GT218] Geforce 210

Up?
I made some (2)à strace(s)  of my xorg but it's king a difficult to understant what really happens.
Is it possible to have xorg working with Archlinux? Yes/No?
I'm actually trying to Gentoo but i'v not yet finished.
Would somebody convict me that ArchLinux is really the best?
Thank's!

I can't help you with your problems in the first post but I can point you in some directions for your second post.

Yes, you can run xorg with archlinux. Here is some information from the wonderful wiki. Again, this won't help you with nouveau, this is just meant as evidence that, yes, xorg can run on arch.

As far as convincing you whether or not you should or shouldn't be using arch, only you can do that for yourself. The biggest thing to do is to read The Arch Way. If you want a linux system that follows those guidelines, Arch might be a good choice for you. Another thing to do is to read about what makes arch different from other distributions from a technical standpoint as a result of those guidelines laid out in The Arch Way. From there you'll have to make your own decision and maybe try things out.

Re: xorg with nouveau.ko crash [GT218] Geforce 210

Hi riggt.

Thank you to pay attention to my problem.

And at most thank's to be frank.

Well for sure i'll see your links before to take any decision.
ArchLinux for what i know of if until now has something good anyway.

Buf finaly it is strange and i can't believe that a ten years old
and so common nvidia card working in others Linuxes could not work with ArchLinux.

I really thougt that the ArchLinux community could help me more.

Probably i simply made because i'm only human, a big simple mistake somewhere in the installation.

And that why i would like that more people  pay attention to my problem.

Ok! I'll be patient.
Still waiting...

Thank you very much once again.
Jeanyves.
