MariaDB Upgrade Caused Issues

Not sure if this is the place to post this, and I don't have a lot of time before my network drops out again, but I had an issue upgrading MariaDB to 10.1.8-1, it broke maria and wouldn't start.

I've documented it here:

http://www.universalconflicts.com/?p=544

Basically downgrade fixed it for now.

Will flesh out when I have a stable internet connection.

Nice, hadn't seen that before, might update the wiki page with a bit more information to help others.

Thanks for posting this link... I was unaware about this command or the need to do it.

Re: MariaDB Upgrade Caused Issues

Neither was I.  I only searched for it when I saw this thread.  I'm glad Simnol stumbled over this before I did! ;0

Simnol, feel free to add to the wiki if there is more information needed.  I am curious whether anything else was needed after the upgrade or if that command was sufficient.  I want to ensure I'm ready for the update before I try to apply it on my server.
