Error while battery charging

Hi

I've a Lenovo X230 laptop running Arch Linux, but I'm having a problem while battery is charging, this is the output of acpi command

koven@koven ~ % acpi -V
Battery 0: Charging, 96%, charging at zero rate - will never fully charge.
Battery 0: design capacity 4892 mAh, last full capacity 2361 mAh = 48%
Adapter 0: on-line
Thermal 0: ok, 54.0 degrees C
Thermal 0: trip point 0 switches to mode critical at temperature 103.0 degrees C
Cooling 0: x86_pkg_temp no state information available
Cooling 1: intel_powerclamp no state information available
Cooling 2: Processor 0 of 10
Cooling 3: Processor 0 of 10
Cooling 4: Processor 0 of 10
Cooling 5: Processor 0 of 10

So it seems battery will never charge full, but sometimes in gnome desktop I can see on the right top where the battery icon is located that the system is telling me battery is full, it lasts 10 seconds and then I can see again the battery  charging icon.

I've been reading a lot of forums but there's not a solution 100% like this , may be an updated packecge not working fine?

Any idea is welcome!

Re: Error while battery charging

How old is that battery?    The design capacity of 4.9 Ah versus the last full capacity of 2.4 Ah tells me that battery has been charged a couple hundred times over several years and is now pining for the fjords

At least, that is what those messages tell me.:(

Re: Error while battery charging

Hi ewaller

This is a 3 years old battery, and my laptop is always connected to AC so there're not a lot of charging cycles, do you know any command or application to check battery status? Is it time to change my battery?
