I run Arch Linux on Thinkpad X220. I can't tell when it started to happen, as I noticed this few days ago, but there was no problem with it like one month ago.
Some games on unity (Broforce, Audiosurf 2) are crashing right after running them.

I have some sort of the same problem but with an NVIDIA setup. It occured today with the update of X11 (xorg-server 1.17.3 -> 1.17.4). Try downgrading to the previous version. That helped for me.
