Hey there,
I want to ask/suggest a simple feature:
Wouldnt it be handy to be able to sort the packages overview on archlinux.org/packages by categories?
E.g. display all codecs or web browser or archive formats/utilities (zip, p7zip,...) ?
I know that the wiki has a big list of recommended software but as an example: I just had missing codecs/plugins for video/audio/pictures and wanted to browse through all available codecs/plugins that arch has in order to install them and not run into another case of "missing a codec/plugin" when I might not be able to install it but need it (e.g. at work). A category based search on archlinux.org/packages would come very handy in such cases.
Thanks !

IMHO, with these categories, you always end up with something you don't know where it is. I think that minimal script ability combined with pacman (or expac) is much better. For the video plugin, have checked the optional dependency of your video player? For the archive, pacman -Ss archives should answer it.
