When I checked while it was working, G600's side buttons were seen as a keyboard from xinput. Now it has changed to mouse and I think that hauptmech's fix (which is rather good way of forcing xorg to think of it as a keyboard) is the one that should definitely be known as best way to deal with the issue at least until it's fixed in xorg. I've updated ArchWiki with that solution: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Al … itech_G600. I also submitted bug report: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93303, but as I wrote there, I am not really sure what's expected behavior of xinput when such device is plugged.
