My pc is an asus n56jk
Suddenly since few days my notebook randomly says "Cable unplugged" but it isn't..
Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 10)I'm using r8169 driver but I also tried r8168 with no results...
Not sure it is related or not but I have a dual boot with Win 10.
Seems that if I poweroff, detach the battery then power on it works until I reboot or poweroff again
this is my ethtool output ( when is not working )

I had a similar problem and after a lot of tries, i solved it by recompiling the r8168 and enabling the ENABLE_S5WOL CC flag: otherwise, for some reason, the network card would remain in an "odd" state after rebooting and i wouldn't be able to use it until i poweroff the laptop.
