[SOLVED] Keyboard unresponsive under KDE (SDDM) and XFCE

After a recent upgrade, my laptop's keyboard (X1 Carbon) became unresponsive under graphical environments (while it works fine before starting a DE):  I cannot get past the SDDM login screen (to log into KDE, my usual DE), and even though I can start XFCE manually (after disabling sddm, just run startxfce4), the keyboard is also unresponsive after XFCE starts.  The mouse is completely fine.

Attached is the Xorg.0.log; any help would be welcome.

Re: [SOLVED] Keyboard unresponsive under KDE (SDDM) and XFCE

Is there anything logged in dmesg / journalctl that indicates a problem with the keyboard? Also check your pacman.log to see which package upgrade could have caused this.

journalctl is too long to be attached but there doesn't seem to be anything specifically keyboard related.
Latest upgrade included xorg but a quick googling doesn't suggest anything that could be related.

Re: [SOLVED] Keyboard unresponsive under KDE (SDDM) and XFCE

I had the same issue. I fixed it by installing xf86-input-evdev rather than xf86-input-evdev-trackpoint from the aur. It is explained here https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1577999 in more detail.
