Intermittent I/O error running arch from usb 3.0 flash drive

I am running arch from a SanDisk usb 3.0 flash drive. After a few hours of usage the system sometimes looses the connection to the usb drive which results in a kernel input output error. Since all mountpoints are lost when this happends there is no error log. The same thing happends if I unplug the usb drive and then plug it back in again. I could take a picture of the screen to show the kernel error messages on the ttys but I doubt they are essential to solve the problem. I would like to configure the system such that if connection to the flash drive is lost it tries to remount it. Could that be done?
