SLiM and user rights

The SLiM project has been abandoned (the project homepage is down, leaving a github mirror), and is not fully compatible with systemd, including logind sessions.

source

My computer has 2 seats. I'm using SLiM. I noticed that my USB videocamera is accessible on one seat and is not on the other even if the same user has logged in. But after relogging several times here and there he gets access.

$ ls -l /dev/video*
crw-rw----+ 1 root video 81, 0 лис 22 09:41 /dev/video0

The user is not in the "video" group. Then how does he get the access on any seat?! I wonder if this is related to SLiM incompatibility. Maybe, "logind" gives rights. BTW, is PolKit involved in this in any way?
