[SOLVED]Has QCA9377 support been added?

lspci output -

03:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros Device 0042 (rev 30)

Support has only been recently added to Linux

I couldn't find any bug reports here
But since the firmware files  are availabe and it has already been patched in Linux. Do I need to submit a bug report?

I already patched my system from here
So I  don't know if the updates fixed it or not.

So,
1. Has it been fixed in Arch ?
2.  Is a bug report needed? (if not fixed)

Patch was added during the 4.4 merge window so it will not be in the arch kernel packages until 4.4 is released.

And Arch devs will start working on a 4.4 kernel release after its marked stable by kernel.org?
Why don't they release a patch for the current kernel? Wouldn't that make everybody happy?

That's not how Arch development works. You are free to pull the code from git and build it yourself, or grab something like linux-git package from AUR.

4.4-rc2 included QCA9377 driver but for Ver. 1. Ver. 2 is still unavailable. So if you apply my install script or compile package from my source on kernel 4.4-rc2, again your device will stop working. I recently added a patch for kernel sources. You need to download the 4.4-rc2 kernel source code or linux-next source and apply the mentioned patched. Now, only you need to run the new installation script in the repo. I made this repo future proof till final release of 4.4. Apparently, the support has been included for now.

I'm not sure I understand. As 4.4 has since been released and my device is still not working, does that mean I have Ver. 2? If so, is there any way to get it to work right now? Do I need to compile the kernel myself and apply the patch or is that only for Ver. 1 as well?

You can always find your kernel version by running the command uname -a
If your system is up to date, and you are using the main line Arch kernek, you are running 4.4.

If your system is fully up to date (meaning you have run pacman -Syu successfully) and yo are still having problems, then please start a new thread and we will be glad to help you out.  In the meantime, this thread is considered to have been solved by the original poster.  To avoid confusion, I'll go ahead and close this thread.  If you believe this thread relevant, go ahead and link back to it using  BBCode url tags should you start a new thread.
