moc won't play files: "Can't open audio: Invalid argument"

moc was working fine. I upgraded yesterday. Now moc opens fine with

mocp <files>.mp3

but pressing enter to play them fails and I get a message in moc saying "Can't open audio: Invalid argument"

No error messages on console, except for two missing plugins which have always been missing and are irrelevant.

Re: moc won't play files: "Can't open audio: Invalid argument"

The ALSA code threw an error when moc tried to open the audio device defined in the ALSADevice option in your moc configuration file. It defaults to the "default" ALSA audio device if you don't have a configuration file. The "aplay" command will probably also fail when using that same device and usually displays more detailed error messages.

FYI: moc doesn't support pulseaudio without an unofficial patch.
