is there any way to blacklist wireless networks? My connection keeps hopping around, from mine to the neibors, to the school across the street to the chuch, driving me crazy, I just want it to stay on one of get the heck off all the others
I assume these are all running w/out encryption..
Do they all have the same essid (network name)? If not you can try typing from the command line:
iwconfig wlan0 essid "yournetwork"
/etc/rc.d/network ifup wlan0
where wlan0 is your network interface. That should tell it to acquire just your network. Personally, I think you'd be better off securing your network and then it wouldn't hop around.
