Acer Aspire 5315 wifi & mousepad issues

Hi guys,
I got this Acer Aspire 5315 laptop back in august as a gift from someone I helped buy a new and better laptop. She just gave me her old one when she learned I didn't have one (I am a desktop guy) and was starting school soon.

As soon as I got it I put Mint 17.2 Cinnamon on it. I've been an Arch user for 2 years now but I felt Mint was going to be easier, more stable for me (doing school work on it so can't really risk an update breaking anything).

I felt like testing Arch to see if it could hold up to the task(mostly out of boredom) so I swapped hard drives with a spare one I had. Partitionned it as one should (separate /boot and /home partitions, yaddi yadda), proceeded to install arch along with xfce, the goodies and the intel drivers for the VGA adapter. It is going pretty good.

Now I'm going to get to the point here, wireless was a female dog to set up. Probably because it is my first time dealing with Arch and wireless. First of all wifi-menu seemed to work great at first, showing me all the networks and such, then asking for the passkey, then closing. pinging google didnt work, with dhcpcd started of course. Anyway after googling around, I can make it work temporarily by pressing Ctrl Alt F2 and doing the following fun activity;

modprobe ath5k
ip link set wlp6s0 up (not sure if really necessary tbh)
iwconfigwlp6s0 essid "mynetworkssid"
wpa_passphrase "mynetworkssid" "mypasskey" > /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf (this is the command that forces me to do it as root, as any other user it returns a permission denied error)
wpa_supplicant -Dnl80211 -iwlp6s0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

Then Ctrl Alt F3, loging as root again, and run dhcpcd (I'm assuming once I can automate the last parts I can avoid this part this by doing systemctl enable dhcpcd, only for now It would be useless since I need to do all this before starting it)

My question here is how do I automate this? I call those shenanigans

About the mousepad now. It acts up quite a bit(worked flawlessly in Mint, aside from the middle button click not working in firefox). When using it to move the cursor, as soon as my finger touches it the cursor changes position in a teleporting kind of fashion. Tapping the pad does not click, it also teleports it a few inches away. The middle button click does not work either.

Extra information because why not:

My user profile is added to the wheel group and the sudoers files, the wheel group is uncommented in the ALL section of Icantrememberwhichconfigfile

I apologize if this thread is lenghty, I am tired and trying to provide as much information and boring humor as I can.
