Policy on controversial avatars/usernames/sigs/…

Preface: I am NOT offended and I am NOT asking for any action against the user. I've just found out that the issue is not cleared in the rules.

What's the current forum policy on refering to controversial cum offending issues in avatars, user names, signatures et cetera? The actual case I'm talking about is the avatar of user.

While I may not agree, I am perfectly fine with $user using the image. But I would be very unhappy to see that users who have avatar like this or this, or support ISIL in their signatures are treated in any other way.

Sometimes I seem a bit harsh — don’t get offended too easily!

Use the report function to alert the moderation team and we will confer before making a decision.

There have been cases in the past where we have asked members to change their avatars or signatures to remove obviously offensive content. In the case of a username, that will be changed for them.
