USB keyboard randomly not working at login

Hi,

When I boot up, my USB keyboard works in grub selection, and in the bios, but when the archlinux login prompt appears, it stops working. Somewhere between grub and the login prompt, the num lock light of the keyboard will go off.

Around 50% of the times, it works, the other 50% of the times not. So after a few reboots it may work. This is VERY annoying.

Any idea what the problem could be? Might there be a log file of the events that happen during previous boots somewhere?

Thanks!

Re: USB keyboard randomly not working at login

Are you booting to a console? or are you booting to a display manager like gdm or Slim?
Desktop? Laptop?  Is this the only keyboard?

Re: USB keyboard randomly not working at login

try to remove the keyboard hook from mkinitcpio.conf and regen the initramfs and see if things change
