I've been having issues lately with MPV where the video will appear to pause a couple of frames and then keep going, pause again, etc.. until it finally gets back in sync. The audio will keep playing normally the whole time. This hadn't been issue before until a couple months ago so I'm not sure what changed. It also doesn't seem to happen in Ubuntu or Debian so far as I have tried. My mpv config is pretty simple:
hwdec=vaapi
cache=3072
ytdl-format=bestvideo+bestaudio/best
vo=opengl
I've tried turning off vaapi or using no config at all with just defaults and doesn't seem to help.
My specs are an Acer c720 chromebook with i3 processor using intel graphics with 4gb of ram. Desktop is just openbox + lxpanel.
I'm pretty sure it's not the internet because the cache is full and the audio keeps playing and everything and as I said it doesn't seem to happen in other distros. Anybody else have this problem?
edit: Trying vo=xv seems to be helping so far.
