Hello, I'm experiencing some very weird issues since switching from the open source AMD driver to the closed source one (in order to increase performance).
My system specs are as follows:
- i7 5930k CPU
- 64GB Corsair DDR4
- EVGA x99 FTW motherboard
- 2 AMD R9 295x2 dual GPU cards
- 2 ASUS PB278Q 1440p monitors and one Acer B286HK 4K monitor
- Running Cinnamon with LightDM
Every time my system locks the screen, something like this happens to it:

The system is unusable until I SSH in and restart Cinnamon.
And when I resize or maximize certain windows, like my terminals or Firefox, certain ways, this happens to the window until I make it smaller again:
Also, when I play Minecraft and resize the window past a certain size, the window begins rapidly flickering in a very annoying manner.
I do not believe this is a hardware issue for various reasons:
- Works fine under Windows
- Works fine with open source drivers (aside from performance being too low for my liking)
- I can screenshot the artifacts, which means it's happening somewhere before it hits the GPU
How can I fix all of this?
If any more information is required, just ask, and I will do my best to provide it.
Sorry for the large images, this forum doesn't seem to support spoilers.
