How well do Skylake CPUs work with linux?

I plan on buying a new laptop that has an Skylake i7-6700hq. I see a lot things online talking about the integrated graphics issues with the skylake chips. But I was wondering if I am going to run into any problems with the Skylake processor if I used a dedicated GPU, a Nvidia GTX 960m for example assuming there aren't problems with the GPU either.

Re: How well do Skylake CPUs work with linux?

I have desktop i7-6700 with Nvidia VGA and there exist the following problem (read through all URLs in there for better understanding of it): https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topi … platforms/
Except of this one, I'm not aware of any other problems.

There is also this kernel bug report. Kind of looking to upgrade to the skylake platform myself, but it seems it might not be entirely stable just yet.

I bought my Skylake (desktop i7-6700 with asus z170-k) at the beginning of 10/2015, and I've been using LTS kernel also before, and with the LTS it ain't showing no such kernel freezes.
However, I've not readed through the whole thread in there, but it could also be affecting only certain HW.
