Since a few weeks pacman refuses to update thunderbird due to the following keyring error:
error: thunderbird: signature from "Evangelos Foutras <evangelos@foutrelis.com>" is invalid
:: File /var/cache/pacman/pkg/thunderbird-38.5.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz is corrupted (invalid or corrupted package (PGP signature)).
I had the package on hold but since the error persists even after a recent update of my keyring I'm not sure how I can get it working again. Some sites suggest to add the
SigLevel = Optional TrustAll
option, but the arch wiki states explicitelly that this option is solely for debugging purposes https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … ge_signing.
How can I fix this? Is this error due to a wrong setting or is the correct key simple missing from the keyring and have I to add it manually? Any help appreciatet.

What's the output of
$ md5sum /var/cache/pacman/pkg/thunderbird-38.5.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
In my case, it is 9f0104c76253c290332b91cddc24e67d.

md5sum /var/cache/pacman/pkg/thunderbird-38.5.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
results in a different output: 26e9d941c53e0681d48ac5e4ebb4f705 /var/cache/pacman/pkg/thunderbird-38.5.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

Then probably the download is corrupted. Try removing the file and changing your mirror.
