HP Dv7 6197ca Unable to control the Backlight

I have a modded BIOS installed that allows me to disable the AMD 6770M (It failed a while back, and was causing issues. Modded BIOS lets me disable it.), but I can not control the backlight on my Screen. I verified the same issue on an identical laptop with a working GPU, so I don't think the Modded BIOS/Disabled card causing the issue. I am using the on CPU Intel HD 3000.

I know that the backlight control still works, as it functions via Windows, but I can not get it to function under any Linux, where it is stuck at 100% Brightness. The OS does recognize that the screen can be dimmed, as using the brightness controls does notify that it is changing the brightness, but the screen never dims.

I don't know what information to give you, so I will leave it to you to tell me what information you need.
