512MB vRAM for QEMU / virt-manager?

Hey there again,

in order to fully run Photoshop CC 2015 in QEMU/KVM it need 512mb of vRAM. Is there any way to assign that much vRAM to it?

Thanks !

-m 512M? I wonder if it's really enough. I bet it should be (512M + how_much_windows_et_al_needs).

Thing is, how much do you got physically?

I am running a nvidia gt750m + intel hd4600. Guess that also means I would need to run qemu with primusrun/optiun?

I doubt that primusrun/optirun make a difference on qemu...

Re: 512MB vRAM for QEMU / virt-manager?

If you mean video RAM and you're using the qxl video driver then try the following switches in your qemu command...

...-vga qxl -global qxl-vga.vram_size=512M...

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

I am using the -nographics parameter and use freeRDP instead.

So I guess primusrun/optirun should make a difference for "v" in "video"? smile Can't test it atm sad

Re: 512MB vRAM for QEMU / virt-manager?

No idea. I don't know what exactly will qxl try to allocate with that "vram_size", but I don't think bumblebee will be able to "expose" the video memory on the discrete card anyway. Not to mention that you're using a remote connection to it instead...

EDIT: for RDP it might be more about the client support on RemoteFX?
