Xorg configuration issue - number of created screens versus devices

Hi all,
After using for some time Archlinux on my laptop I decided to install it on my ZOTAC mini PC.
Here I faced issue with Xorg.
After I run "Xorg -configure" I get issue with
"Numer of created screens does not much number of detected devices".
each time I delet xorg.conf.new from root directory and re-run Xorg config I get this error.

In order to analyze the issue I installed lshw and started this command" "lshw -c video".
As expected this returns me display 0 and display 1
Display 0 tells me in the description section "VGA compatibe controller".
Display 1 tells me in the description "Display controller".

Both have the same product "Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx.N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller".

How can I solve the issue?
My Zotac is connected with VGA to one monitor. It has also HDMI output (which I do not want to use).

Why I see two displays and how can I disable 'display 1"

Best regards
Rafal

You probably should not run Xorg -configure anyway. That's basically obsolete.

No idea what lshw checks, does lspci list two entry for that as well?

Also you don't need to worry about the ports, at least not until you actually have a monitor connected to them respectively.

Re: Xorg configuration issue - number of created screens versus devices

Hello,
thanks for reply,
I didn't know that "Xorg -configure " is obsolete. What is the replacement? How should be Xorg conf created ?

For the issue I have I did following workaround:
I have created all files manually based on the entries I saw in ARCHLINUX of my laptop. Now my BLACKBOX starts without issues.
Nevertheless it will be good to know why this issue happened and what users can do with it.
The ' lspci' I can check later.

On this PC I had before lubuntu and in LXDE I also saw that I see VGA and DVI (two outputs).

See my old thread I posted here
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions … 175477880/

Command 'xrandr --prop' also reported two monitors (at this time I did it on opensuse, but later moved to lubuntu).

Best regards

There shouldn't be a need to create a Xorg conf  if you don't intend to do specific manual configuration yourself.

thank you. Once I have deleted all configuration files , I was able to execute 'startx' without issues.
