You will have to improve on your question, otherwise you will not get useful answers.

Re: [Solved] Gnome crashes during activating vpn connection..

Thx for this fomal advice.

But I doubt I can tell much more useful details. I'll try:

I'm using Arch with Gnome 3 for some years on a t420s. Today I made a system update. The last one was two or three days ago. After logging in I'm usually chose the option to select a configured vpn in the right upper corner (select the little arrow down, select the little arrow to right at "vpn disabled" and move the button). While I'm doing this today the screen goes black, followed by the grey screen with the "oh no, something has gone wrong" - message. Then I can relog or reboot. The problem does not disappear.

Can anybody else confirm this behaviour? Does anybody have a hint to avoid this?

thx for patience smile I'm happy about helpful answers.

Re: [Solved] Gnome crashes during activating vpn connection..

That is a move in the right direction. Please check if there is any relevant information in the output of dmesg or journalctl that might help others help you. You should also say which packages were updated, it might provide some clues as to what is wrong.

I'm not familiar with gnome so I can't help much with it, but others will need as much relevant information as possible so they can try to help you.

Thats a great estimation.

The packages are gnome gnome-extra networkmanager-open*. There is no usefull output in journalctl or Xorg.log. After this I think we can stop anatomizing posts now. Let's get back to the problem please.

Re: [Solved] Gnome crashes during activating vpn connection..

If anyone needs a temporary solution:
# sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/libsecret-0.18.3-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
everything is working fine after downgrading this (and restarting services).
