No more Gnome backend in python-keyring

Hi guys, I've been using the python-keyring package with the Gnome backend for quite a while without any problems. Today I upgraded the python-keyring package, after which the keyring command started complaining about "RuntimeError: No recommended backend was available". Apparently the Gnome backend was removed from the package itself.

The package documentation says that I have to install the python-keyrings-alt package (which is also mentioned here - https://www.archlinux.org/packages/comm … -keyring/) which contains the Gnome backend, but strangely it doesn't seem to exist in the repositories.

How can I get the Gnome backend back? Thanks!

Looks like you'll have to wait (or downgrade for now).

I cleaned the cache. neutral

Well, looks like I'll have to wait. Thanks anyway.

Re: No more Gnome backend in python-keyring

Looks like python-keyrings-alt is available in community now, but for whatever reason pacman doesn't seem to see it. Do you know why that could happen? I tried "sudo pacman -Syy" as well before trying to install it, but no luck.

Re: No more Gnome backend in python-keyring

Likely your mirror is just slow.

And don't run pacman -Syy. Updating the database without updating the system leads to pain.
