Prior to pacman-5.0.0-1, I could create a database suitable for pkgfile via:
repo-add -f reponame.files.tar.xz foo.tar.xz
Per the man page, it seems as though the -f switch is no longer supported. What is the recommended method to accomplish this task? Thanks!
REPO-ADD OPTIONS
...
-f, --files
Tells repo-add also to create and include a list of the files in the specified packages. This is useful for creating databases listing all files in a given sync repository for tools that may use this information.
EDIT: I should have tried the script. I see now that it will automatically make reponame.files.tar.xz so my question now is: how can one exclude files in the repo from reponame.files.tar.xz?

The .files repo db is now created automagically when you add a package to a repo. Check the example at the bottom of the man page.

Thanks for the reply, Wormzy. I edited my post as you replied I'll just echo my question in this reply here: how can one exclude files in the repo from reponame.files.tar.xz?
EDIT: Last night (early morning) for you in /usr/share/zoneinfo/GB, no?

I don't think that's possible any more. Is there a use case for excluding individual packages from the files db? If so, you should probably open a bug report.

Nah, it's only 11:30 here, the night is young.

Isn't it nice no longer having to work the double shift at the staff taco bar since you are no longer the new guy?

Definitely. I'm going to recommend that new mods are always hired in twos at the next secret meeting. They get to sleep in shifts, and we get a near constant stream of tacos! Win win!

Niche use case likely not to affect most users. I'll leave it be. Thanks.
