Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but I was trying to install the android sdk and it downloaded all of the files for the pkgbuild but then the pkgbuild kept failing. here is my logcat of it:

/opt/android-sdk is owned by (at least) android-sdk, android-sdk-build-tools, android-sdk-platform-tools and android-platform.

All chmod it as 775 except android-platform to 755. Maybe you should follow them?

@apaatsi

You need to uninstall the "Android SDK Tools" package from the Android SDK Manager. basically the Android package overlaps with this Arch package.

What do I have to do to solve this:
[2015-12-12 21:27:29 - Android SDK] Error when loading the SDK:

Error: Error parsing /opt/android-sdk/system-images/android-23/android-wear/armeabi-v7a/devices.xml
cvc-complex-type.2.4.d: Invalid content was found starting with element 'd:skin'. No child element is expected at this point.

I have reinstalled android sdk. Should I remove it along with its folder and try again?

the way android names the versions starts with an r. can you update the package to have an r in front of the version?

elgaton commented on 2016-01-21 09:44
There's a small typo in the .desktop file - it should say "Android Software Development Kit" instead of "Android Sofware Development Kit" (note the missing "t").

@elgaton: You are right! Please report the issue upstream to Google: https://source.android.com/source/report-bugs.html

@mralext20: 24.4.1 and r24.4.1 are pretty similar, and r24.4.1 is not more informative. Do you have a case where using "r24.4.1" makes things easier?

Re: AUR giving me trouble when i tried to install a program.

"write failed" and "no space left on device" seem pretty clear. Stop building in /tmp.

Re: AUR giving me trouble when i tried to install a program.

Scimmia, how do i fix that issue? I checked my partitions and i still have a lot of space left in them. and how do i clear the /tmp and write to somewhere else?

WorMzy, what is a code tag exactly? Sorry, still new to posting on the forums.

Re: AUR giving me trouble when i tried to install a program.

twilighttony, by building with makepkg instead of yaourt, or by configuring yaourt to build elsewhere.

It's bbcode. See https://bbs.archlinux.org/help.php#bbcode

You use it

[code]like this[/code]

Sakura:-
Mobo: MSI MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX // Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @4.9GHz // GFX: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT // RAM: 32GB (4x 8GB) Corsair DDR4 (@ 3000MHz) // Storage: 1x 3TB HDD, 6x 1TB SSD, 2x 120GB SSD, 1x 275GB M2 SSD

edit /etc/yaourtrc line that reads #TMPDIR="/tmp" to a different location that has enough space or else # rm -rf /tmp/ if nothing else is in there that is needed for anything if you are going to use yaourt.

Re: AUR giving me trouble when i tried to install a program.

yaourt strikes again.  twilighttony, you would be well served to learn: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Makepkg and then once you know how it all works "under the hood" then re-evaluate if you even need yaourt.  yaourt blurs the line between what is an official package and what is actually a user-contributed build-script.  That is bad.  Because it leads to threads like this.

Re: AUR giving me trouble when i tried to install a program.

If you have plenty of storage on / then you can do this

systemctl mask tmp.mount

I don't reccomend it  though, just learn how to use makepkg. (and Cower wink)

Re: AUR giving me trouble when i tried to install a program.

If you do mask the /tmp tmpfs mount, you should probably look into whether systemd automatically cleans /tmp these days. You may need to enable a separate service to clean up your /tmp if it is stored on persistent storage.
