Can't disable geoclue.service ?

Hey there,

I want to disable the geoclue.service but somehow can't. Disabling it won't give me the "removed symlink" answer and geoclue will still run after a reboot.

sudo systemctl status geoclue.service -l
* geoclue.service - Location Lookup Service
   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/geoclue.service; static; vendor preset: disabled)
   Active: active (running) since Thu 2016-02-11 19:00:54 CET; 3min 47s ago
 Main PID: 1505 (geoclue)
    Tasks: 3 (limit: 512)
   CGroup: /system.slice/geoclue.service
           `-1505 /usr/lib/geoclue2/geoclue -t 5

Feb 11 19:00:54 _____ systemd[1]: Starting Location Lookup Service...
Feb 11 19:00:54 _____ geoclue[1505]: (geoclue:1505): Geoclue-WARNING **: Failed to connect to avahi service: Daemon not running
Feb 11 19:00:54 _____ systemd[1]: Started Location Lookup Service.

Any suggestions?

Thanks !

It's static service, you can't 'disable' it, you have to 'mask' it.

Oh great thanks. Is there also a way to "mask" packages? E.g. can I somehow "mask" all "geoclue" packages so it wouldn't be possible at all to use them but still have them installed as dependencies?

Thanks !
