Mount Google Drive using gvfs-google / gvfs-goa under Awesome WM

I've got Awesome WM as window manager. So no GNOME. I'd like to use the gvfs-google and/or gvfs-goa to mount Google Drive from CLI or PCManFM if possible. But I'm not sure how to do this. Can anyone give some pointers?

I'm trying the same. There is a stackexchange answer that claims it can be done from the command line, however it is not working for me.
Since I have no plans for installing Gnome, I'm stuck with an "invalid mount spec" error.
