Razer Blade 2015 suspend problems

Hi there,
I've been using this laptop without much trouble since October.  But with recent kernels things have started to get worse:

Screen flickering
There's a bug on intel's drm driver that I'm sort of working around using linux-drm-intel-nightly from AUR plus this patch.  There's more info on that issue here.  This has been going on for months, and I'm not sure they have a proper fix yet.

Suspend problems
The screen turns off and the led starts the green breathing animation, but the keyboard stays on.  And there's no way to wake up the laptop except a hard reboot by holding the power button.

I work with the laptop plugged most of the time so I'm not sure when this started to fail.  But it seems to have something to do with the USB keyboard causing the kernel to freeze when it goes into energy saving mode.

If you try to enable PM on the keyboard using powertop, the laptop freezes after a few seconds without interacting with it.

So, I was wondering if any other fellow Archers that use this laptop are also running into this and have found a solution.
Thanks!

Re: Razer Blade 2015 suspend problems

Made an account to follow this post, I also own a razer blade and have had this issue since I started using arch. I've noticed that it also occurs when I try to use reboot or shutdown. Using nvidia 355 or below fixes this issue for me, but linux-lts does nothing. Interesting to hear it may be related to the usb keyboard. hope that somebody else has seen this before!

Re: Razer Blade 2015 suspend problems

A lot of people have this issue.  Even on other distros.  I know I don't have this issue running ubuntu 14.04, but they have it in 15.04 and above.  I have swapped kernels and the issue seems fine.  That leads me to believe it is something other then the kernel and nvidia driver at least in regards to the suspend functionality.

As far as flickering goes I haven't experienced that issue, but I am also using nvidia driver 352.

I will have to give it a try in Arch.

Re: Razer Blade 2015 suspend problems

I haven't had the flickering issue with my Razer Blade 2015 (I'm using xf86-video-intel, and bumblebee with nvidia-lts), but I have been experiencing the suspend problem since linux-lts jumped to the 4.4 branch. It was working previously with linux-lts 4.1.21-1 (and several versions of 4.1.x before that).

I had switched to linux-lts when I had been finding that I was only able to suspend successfully every other kernel update, so I'm pretty sure this is an upstream issue. I don't know exactly which open issue on bugzilla.kernel.org applies, though.
