Anyone having any luck using mt-daapd as an iTunes server and playing music from it using Rhythmbox? No matter what I try, this will not work. mt-daapd is running fine and avahi-discover recognizes it as an iTunes server, but in Rhythmbox, it sees the music share but there's nothing in it. Any ideas?

No, i also have this setup. But for me it's working fine. You say that you see the share in Rhythmbox but none of the tunes are listed?
Does your setup work in Itunes? What does your mtdaap config file look like?
