[SOLVED] Monitor HDMI RGB configuration (black level)

I'm posting this here to confirm if the solution I found is the best and to help others to solve the issue, since I had some trouble to find the solution.

I'm using a laptop with an external monitor connected with a HDMI cable. And I noticed that in the grub screen the black of the background was black, and then when the X quicked in it was not black anymore, it was more like greyish.

After some googling I found this post: http://losca.blogspot.com.br/2013/11/wo … -when.html

it worked very well.
When I executed the command:

/usr/bin/xrandr --output HDMI3 --set "Broadcast RGB" "Full"

The black was black again smile

My doubt is if this still is the best solution, since the post is from 2013. And if it is the arch way to solve the issue.

This is the kind of information you should add to the appropriate page of the Wiki.

Ok. So based on the answer I will assume that the solution is still valid and is the better one.

Added the solution in the wiki:
