PulseAudio equalizer makes glitches

I want to use the global equalizer on my Asus UX303LA, so I've followed the instructions in Arch Wiki. I've got what I want, but not at all. When I listen to music (for example in Firefox) and receive notification (or change volume, that also cause playback short sound) I've got glitches and short skips. Of course, I've tried various PulseAudio configurations: changing resample-method, sample-format, sample-rate, tsched=0., but it REALLY has no effect: music still have crackling when another audio stream started.

Here is daemon.conf

; another parameters are commented

resample-method = speex-float-1
flat-volumes = no

default-sample-format = s16le
default-sample-rate = 44100
alternate-sample-rate = 48000
default-sample-channels = 2

default-fragments = 2
default-fragment-size-msec = 125

and pactl list sinks

So, if there isn't solution, maybe I should use OSS or try alsaequal? Then, can I disable PulseAudio, but use regular Gnome 3 volume applet?

Re: PulseAudio equalizer makes glitches

Hello!

I suggest you follow the Alsa troubleshooting guide and see if any of the suggested solutions there solves your problem.

Regards
Martin

It is advised to follow the How to post guide when posting on the Arch forum. If one consciously jumps over these elementary steps like reading the wiki and providing necessary information about the problem, one can be regarded as a Help Vampire.
