unworkable backlight control after resuming from hibernation

Hi!

I'm running Arch on a Macbook. I control the brightness of my screen with xbacklight which works perfectly until I close the lid of my laptop (go into hibernate) and the open the lid again (resuming from hibernation).

Then, xbacklight still kind of works, but any brightness value betwee 82 and 100 just puts the screen in full brightness, and any value between 0 and 81 darkens the screen to a complete black.

I have tried different values for the acpi_backlight kernel parameter. Currently I have the value `video' which gives me both acpi_video0 and intel_backlight in /sys/class/backlight. Before I was using the value `vendor' which left me with only the intel_backlight directory.

This behaviour (no real backlight control after resuming from hibernation, but perfectly working after reboot) is consistent across the different values and has been like this for a very long time.

Does anybody face the same problem? Any ideas on how to control the backlight differently?
