Obtaining email class 1 ssl cert fails in chrome

Yesterday I was trying to renew my Startcom ssl certificate using the chrome browser  (current version 49.0.2623.110) - but it consistently failed to execute at the final point in the process so no new cert was installed in chrome ready to export to mail clients. Eventually I resorted to try the same in Firefox and it worked perfectly!  I then tried chrome to get a class 1 ssl cert from Comodo and that failed also.  Again I tried the same in Firefox and it worked fine.

So it seems that there may be a bug in chrome at the present time when handling class 1 ssl certificates and installing in the certificate manager within chrome from external ssl authorities across the internet.  If you have this issue then a solution is to use Firefox instead until the problems with ssl certificates in chrome are resolved.  By the way importing an existing ssl certificate into chrome from the settings menu still works. I thought I would flag this up in case others came across the same issue.
